How to Decorate with Photographic Art.

Good photography can be used like any other kind of
artwork, painting, etc. Tailor it too your decor, by
using more formal subjects if that is your style, or
casual and so on. You can define this idea even further
by using a style of frame, and mat color that blends
with your space. Be sure and consider the shades of
color in the photo when choosing either. Neutral shades
are usually the easiest to work with, though stronger
colors can be used for simple subjects or light
background walls.

 Quick Tips
Use frames of matching or similar types in the same
room...for example all wood, or gold tones, etc.
Group smaller prints together for one visual impact.
Either 'grid' them, or be creative...just make sure to
have at least one side with the verticle or horizontal
line straight. Stack frames on at least one wall...two
deep if medium size...even three if small and fits
space. Very small framed photos can be arranged on a
wooden or silver tray. And for goodness sake, when
you get new photos of your kids or grandkids, TRADE
them out for old ones instead of just adding them to
the clutter!
For a dramatic presentation over a mantel, or in a
high ceilinged room...look for
very large scale photos
or photo art...as always the right matting and frame
will enhance the artistic effect.

Strong Matting and traditional frames would go well in formal or traditional homes. More rustic frames are appropriate for the casual subjects, and would go well in modern homes. Simple, metal, 'gallery'
types frames, or clear acrylic are good for offices and any light modern space. See examples of each below.
